Natalia is a Principal Policy Consultant in the Environmental Policy and Economics Practice with 15 years of professional experience working on GHG emissions modelling, air quality, waste and sustainable water management.
Natalia joins from C40 where she has worked extensively on the delivery of technical assistance, capacity building and elaboration of tools and guidance to help cities develop GHG emissions inventories and climate action plans in line with international best practices. Throughout her professional career, she has carried out research and data collection through fieldwork including the design and application of surveys and stakeholder consultation processes.
In 2018 Natalia completed an Environmental Engineering PhD research in Imperial College on the “Impact of Black Carbon (BC) Emissions from the uncontrolled burning of waste”, linking air quality, climate change and waste management. She also studied an MPhil in Engineering for Sustainable Development at the University of Cambridge focusing on sustainable water management.
Before moving to the UK Natalia was the Director of Research in Air Quality at the National Institute of Ecology and Climate Change (INECC) in Mexico, a federal scientific research institute. Natalia has also worked as a water and sanitation consultant in the UN-ECLAC and the Mexican Autonomous National University (UNAM).
