OUR APPROACH & DELIVERABLES 

This study aimed to further the understanding of the use of woodlands in England for leisure and tourism by mapping the various activities they support and exploring the extent to which they depend on woodland. It also produced new analysis estimating the economic contribution of woodlands in England.

The evidence generated in this study is intended to inform policy and provide a basis to explore how this source of value can be increased or better supported. Our findings demonstrate the important role woodlands play in the UK’s growth ambitions and the value of robust evidence to inform policy and investment.
